Dear Brothers and Sisters:
The elders and leaders of Resonate have decided with the pandemic of COVID 19 that we will not be meeting on Sundays for the next three weeks, at least.
We did not come to this decision because of fear, we came to it because it is the sensible thing to do. Furthermore, the School District has closed the schools to all outside user groups March 16 to 27 for “deep cleaning”.
We want to be seen in as a responsible member of the Comox Valley. It only takes one person in a group, to cause unknown hardship in the community. We have many people in our congregation who work in health care, education, volunteering, activities, schools, military… so an infection passed on from our group could be serious. What can we do?
For those that want to gather in homes to pray and read the bible, contact each other. Please insure you are not sick, or have travelled out of country or been in contact with someone who has COVID 19 before you gather.
We need to look around our neighborhoods and sphere of influence and see if there are people who may have needs that we could meet, if the social distancing becomes self quarantine. Is there someone, who has no support system, elderly, single parent or lost income.
Think about those in your sphere who may need food, may need help where we can be of assistance. (If you happen to one of those people who have lifetime supply of TP, think about sharing.)
As we start to distance ourselves from each other, touch base with people in your lives. We live in such a lonely culture and this distancing will only make that worse.
Remember, we are a body, so let us all know how we all can help as a church if you see or hear of a need.
If you have had to self quarantine, contact Gord so we can help.
If you do have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact anyone of the elders or leaders. If you know someone in our congregation that is not on the email list, please let them know.
Yours in Christ Gord, Don, Donnie, Brook, Perry and Nic
